“I want to.”
Oh Gods how he wanted to. But this was hard, going in a completely different direction the wolf. The wolf he’d relied on and been for nearly a hundred and fifty years. They’d been in perfect sync until the morning his wolf told him Mitchell couldn’t be his, and how he wouldn’t allow it.
“When I think of leaving you I get sick.
Like I’ve been tortured all over again.
Going against the wolf is nearly impossible.”
A heartbeat.
“Which is why I’m going to give him up.”
He can barely look up, his wolf pounding at his walls and snarling, refusing to this plan.
But when he does meet the vampires eyes, they’re full of pain but not regret.
“I’d rather be a human or a vampire or anything,
–rather than have to leave you.”
He smiles weakly, reaching to take the vampires hand.
“I found a witch who knows how.
She said I should survive the process.”
Ephraim places a kiss on Mitchell’s lips softly.
“This is my choice, and I’m okay with it.
I promised I would be here for you and I will..
But I never promised the wolf he would stay.”
